Apricot Chicken Recipe
2 lb chicken pieces
1 package french onion soup mix
2 cup apricot nectar
1 1/2 lb apricot halves (canned)
1 flour (plain)
Dust chicken in flour. Fry chicken lightly until starting to brown.
Place chicken in a casserole dish or a very deep frying pan. Add soup
powder, nectar and apricots. Mix everything well. Simmer for 1 hour.
I normally use 2 pieces of chicken per person and about a 1 1/2 lb
can of apricot halves. This will suffice for 4 to 6 people. If you
cannot get nectar, then use the juice from the apricot halves. (Of
course, if you can buy apricots in nectar...)
The French onion soup quantity is not critical, but a soup packet that
makes up about 6 C is about right for 4 to 6 people. Serve with potato
(baked or boiled), buttered carrots and peas.

came to visit me. Yield: Serves 4-6.

A few tips on healthy eating
In planning a diet, the important thing is to also endeavour to restrict your ingestion of refined carbohydrates, salt and fats.
Some lower carb diet tips:
* Make reduced carb breadcrumbs for deep fried or oven baked foods.
Although you may be able to buy low carb breadcrumbs, you may make them yourself by using low carb bread. All you have to do is simply toast the low carb bread in a pre-heated oven on a sheet of cookie paper. Once it is quite hard and crispy, process it in your food mill. To store, keep in an airtight container.
* Understand the food labels
Don't trust sales blurb that claims to be 'low carb' - check the nutritional information on the back of the can or package. Many are only marginally lower and in some cases still more than a competitors usual brand. In addition, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' doesn't always mean 'low carb' - often the carbs are identically the same.
Superfoods containing flavonoids
(inlcudes cranberry, kale, soy and tea)
The large family of compounds known as flavonoids which are present in these natural foods are thought to have properties in preventing cancer.
Medical experts studying the nutritional effects of flavonoids believe that they may also have numerous other health benefits, including, but not limited to, anti-dermatitis and anti-platelet properties.
The majority of these are also good for weight loss, so make sure you add them to your weight loss regime.
