Buttermilk Mayonnaise Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 tsp granulated gelatin 1 tbsp cold water 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1/4 tsp salt 1 few grains freshley ground pepper 1 tbsp water 1 cup buttermilk, made from skim milk 2 tsp green onion, finely chopped 2 tsp parsley, minced fresh

Preparation
Soak gelatin in 1 tb cold water. Dissolve over hot water. Mix together mustard, salt, pepper, and 1 tb water until smooth. Combine all ingredients except parsley and blend well. Chill until it begins to ticken. Beat gently untill smooth; stir in parsley. Turn into a jay and cover. Chill serveral hours. Food Exchanges per serving: Up to 2 tablespoons may be considered "free" CHO: 2g; PRO: 1g; FAT: 0; CAL: 14; Low sodium diets: Omit salt.

A few tips on healthy eating
In planning a diet, the important thing is to also endeavour to restrict your ingestion of refined carbohydrates, salt and fats.
Some lower carbohydrate diet tips:
* Use splenda instead of sugar.
Most recipes that require sugar can be changed to make use of a good substitute like splenda. It is not exactly the same so you will have to do a bit of trial and error and it might not work for everything, but it gives pretty good results most of the time.
* Eat regular meals
Most reduced carbohydrate recipes are, not surprisingly, low in carbohydrates. Our bodies need energy, and carbs are a rapid acting energy source. A reduced carb diet needs extreme care in controlling your energy levels, as the energy provided by protein and fat is less efficient.

The large family of compounds known as flavonoids found in these food types are thought by experts to have properties in fighting cancer.
Doctors who have been studying the medical effects of flavonoids think that they might also have many other healthy benefits, including anti-candida and anti-inflammatory powers.
Most are also good for weight loss, so should be included in every weight loss program.
