Crab On Crackers Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

7 oz crabmeat
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp marjoram
1 dash garlic salt
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
3 tbsp onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup reduced-calorie mayonnaise
36 round crackers

Recipe Preparation

Drain the liquid from the crabmeat into a small microwave bowl or
measuring cup. Stir in the cornstarch until dissolved. Stir in the
marjoram and garlic salt.

With the microwave on HIGH, cook for 30 seconds. Stir and return to
the microwave for 30 more seconds if the mixture is not clear and
thickened. Allow to cool.

Flake the crabmeat. Combine the flaked crabmeat, celery, onion and
mayonnaise in a bowl. Stir in the crab liquid.

Divide the crabmeat mixture evenly between the 36 crackers. Place 12
crackers in a circle around the edge of a paper plate (do the same
for two more plates).

With the microwave on HIGH, cook for 30 seconds, then rotate the plate

Food Tips of the Week

Dieting made easy

One useful tip is to drink plenty of water. From time to time at some stage in a hectic morning, you guess that you want a snack but in fact you might just need a refreshing glass of water or orange squash. The feelings of needing food and needing a drink are quite similar, but one of the two can lead to a broken diet and the other is ok.
The problems associated with reduced carb diets
Its extremely popular, but it is truly safe for you?
Higher consumption of animal-based products may lead into raised consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol, which most authorities believe will increase the probability of heart problems.
Moreover, it has been hypothesised that the kidneys may become stressed and that the resulting change in acid levels in the blood can cause bone loss, but some of the scientifc research testing the theory have failed to find significant evidence of damage to the kidneys or bone damage.
Superfoods containing flavonoids
(inlcudes cranberry, kale, scarlet runner bean and basil)

The nutrients known as flavonoids which are present in these fruits and vegetables show promise as anti-carcinogens.
Doctors who have been studying the properties of flavonoids suspect that they may well also have many other health benefits, amongst them, anti-asthma and anti-platelet powers.
A good number are also good for weight loss, so should be included in your weight loss program.
