Apple Hermits

 

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup salad oil
3 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup black coffee
1/2 cup milk
1 cup apples, peeled and diced
3/4 cup raisins



 

Preparation

Cream sugar with oil. Sift dry ingredients together and add
alternately to the cream mixture with the molasses, coffee and milk.
Fold in apples and raisins. Batter will be stiff. Spread in 2-3
strips on 2 greased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated 350oF Oven for
20-25 minutes. Dust with confectioners sugar while still warm. Cut in
small pieces and remove from pans to a rack right away.
