Desperately Healthy Pancakes Recipe
1/2 cup soy flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
2 tbsp wheat germ
2 tbsp powdered milk
2 tbsp unprocessed bran
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 grated peel of 1 orange part 2:
2 each eggs, separated
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup oil
1 tbsp molasses
1 tbsp honey
1 1/2 cup orange juice
Combine the first 10 ingredients. Reserve the egg whites and add the
egg yolks and the remaining ingredients to the flour mixture in a food
processor, blend well. Beat the egg whites until stiff; fold into the
pancake mixture. Cook on a 300 degree griddle, for 2-1/2 minutes on
one side and 1 minute on the other. Makes about 36 3-inch cakes.

Recognise the difference between hunger and thirst. At times when going through a hectic day, you imagine you feel hunger but if truth be told you just need a restorative tumbler of water or cranberry juice. The feelings of hunger and thirst are quite alike, but one can result in weight gain and the alternative is fine.
Some lower carb diet tips:
* Use soya flour or baking mix.
When you need to use flour for baking, repalce it with soya flour or a bake mix such as Atkins soy baking mix. Most of the time, you can change your favorite recipes that use wheat flour to use these low carbohydrate alternatives.
* Use splenda instead of sugar.
Most recipes that need sugar can be adapted to make use of a sugar replacement instead. It doesn't weigh the same so you will need to experiment a little and it might not work for every recipe, but it does bake up nice most of the time.
Flavonoid rich foods
(inlcudes onion, spinach, kidney bean & thyme)
The nutrients called 'flavonoids' which exist in these fruits and vegetables are believed to have properties in fighting cancer.
