Fat Free Fries Recipe
1 whole idaho baking potatos
1 scrubbed clean, skin on
1 non stick spray
1 onion powder
1 garlic powder
Spray cookie sheet with Non stick spray (I prefer the airbake kind,
the fries dont burn as easily). Slice potatos into french fry shapes
lengthwise. Positi on the fries on the cookie sheet leaving minimal
space in between each. Spray a th in layer of Non stick spray over
the top of the fries and sprinkle with onion powd er garlic powder &
Paprika. Broil for 5-7 minutes until crusty on the outside. Remove
from oven and turn the fries over. Broil on second side for an
addition al 5-7 minutes. If the fries seem underdone, bake for
another 10 min or so at 350 degress. Remove from oven. Place on
serving platter & cover with a (paper ) towel or plate for 5-10 min
(this helps the fries to soften on the inside). Serve.
Another tip: To get really great saute'd onions saute them with
watered down apple juice - no fat but good taste.

Diet hints and tips
In deciding on a diet, it is essential to attempt to lower your consumption of fat, salt and refined carbohydrates.
Some reduced carbohydrate diet pointers:
* Make reduced carb breadcrumbs for deep fried foods.
While you can sometimes buy reduced carbohydrate bread crumbs, you can also make them by using low carbohydrate bread. All you have to do is toast the reduced carbohydrate bread in your oven on a sheet of cookie paper. When it is well browned, grind it in your blender. Keep in an airtight jar.
* Understand the food labels
Don't trust food packaging that proclaims 'low carb' - check the real nutritional information on the back of the tin or packet. A good number of are only a little reduced and in some instances still more than a competitors normal brand. In addition, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' does not always mean 'low carb' - usually the carbs are just the same.
Foods containing carotenes
(includes paprika, turnip greens and tomato puree)
These colorful plants have high levels of carotenes (alpha and beta) believed by scientists to play a role in helping stop cancer, spefically cancer of the lungs. The majority of these are also low in calories, so you should add them to your weight loss program.
