Healthy Liver Soup Recipe
Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 lb liver, chopped 2 tbsp butter 4 small carrots, diced 1/2 cup celery, diced 1 large onion, thinly sliced 2 cup hot water 1 tbsp sugar 1 cup fresh or frozen spinach 20 oz can tomatoes
Recipe
Preparation
Salt and Pepper to taste
Stir cook the liver in butter.Add remaining ingredients.Stir well. Cook covered (25 min in microwave). This soup freezes and reheats very well.
This will take some experimenting but I could make it at the same time as a stir fry and freeze the soup in plastic ice cube trays instead of freezing half the package of raw liver.
Have you tried it using a creamed soup?
I'm not all that fond of cooked tomatoes, but it looks like it might be good using something like cream of Cheddar...
Also... were you using beef or chicken or what?
Also... how about some diced potatoes...?
OTOH... Let's eliminate the butter and use bacon... Turns it into a chowder...

Food Tips of the Week
Dieting made easy
As an alternative to focusing on the junk foods you ought to eliminate from your dietary regime, direct your attention to the sensible foods that you might want to introduce to your daily routine. If you are able to inject the recommended portions healthy fruit & vegetables into your meal plan, you will discover that stop feeling hungry and have a far lower chance of being seduced by those damaging mid-morning potato chips.
Some low carbohydrate diet guidlines:
* Don't miss meals
Most low carb recipes are, errmm.., low in carbohydrates. Your body must have energy, and carbohydrates are a fast acting source of energy. A low carb diet needs great care in managing your intake of energy, as any energy given by fat or protein is much slower acting.
* Fiber is essential
Cutting the carbohydrates in your meals usually results in fiber reduction as well. Look for reduced carbohydrate recipes that are rich in fiber to restore the balance.
Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, chives and spring onions)
The onion, leek and garlic range of vegetables is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is precious little definitive proof published, allyl sulphides are also believed to help with colds, arteriosclerosis and fatigue.
Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so you should add them to your diet system.
