Food Tips of the Week

Dieting made easy

One useful tip is to drink plenty of water. From time to time at some stage in a hectic morning, you guess that you want a snack but in fact you might just need a refreshing glass of water or orange squash. The feelings of needing food and needing a drink are quite similar, but one of the two can lead to a broken diet and the other is ok.
Some low carb diet tips:
* Use soya flour or soy baking mix. When you have to use flour for baked goods, substitute it with soy flour or a baking mix such as Atkins bake mix. In most situtations, you may convert your most popular recipes that use white flour to use these.

* Use splenda as a substitute for sugar. Many recipes that require sugar can be adapted to make use of a good quality substitute like splenda. It has a different density so you will need to experiment a little and it may not work for everything, but it gives very good results once you have it cracked.

Flavonoid rich foods
(inlcudes olive oil, spinach, adzuki bean & coriander)

The flavonoids which exist in these natural foods are thought by nutritionalists to have properties in preventing cancer.
Experts researching the medical effects of flavonoids believe they may well also have many health giving capabilities, including, but not limited to, anti-allergic and antiplatelet activities..
The majority of these are also low in calories, so are ideal for including in your diet.
