Banana Bran Muffins (Ovo Lacto Ff) Recipe
4 medium very ripe bananas
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unprocessed bran
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup fatfree yogurt, unflavored
2 egg whites (or egg replacer
1 for 1egg)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon (or more)
Liquify bananas in a blender or food processor and add the yogurt and
egg whites. Mix the dry ingredients, then add the liquid. Mix just
till moistened. Spoon into sprayed (or non-stick) muffin tins. Bake
in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes. (Use the
toothpick test.) Makes 12-14.

Rather than thinking about which food types you really should leave out of your meal plan, focus on the nutritionally sound foods that you are able to introduce to your meal plan. * Make low carb breadcrumbs for deep fried or oven baked foods.
While you can sometimes buy reduced carb breadcrumbs, you can make them yourself by using reduced carbohydrate bread. Simply toast the reduced carbohydrate bread in the oven on a sheet of cookie paper. When it is well browned, grind it in your blender. Store in an airtight jar or container.

The phytochemical lycopene is a non-synthetic compound used to color foods and member of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. This chemical is accountable for the deep red colour of quite a few natural foods.
