Belgian Waffles Recipe
1 package yeast, dry
2 cup milk, lukewarm
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cup flour, sifted
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 tbsp sugar
Sprinkle yeast over warm milk; stir to dissolve. Beat egg yolks and
add to yeast mixture with vanilla. Sift together flour, sugar and
salt; add to liquid ingredients. Stir in melted butter and combine
thoroughly. Beat the egg whites until stiff; carefully fold into the
mixture. Let stand in a warm place about 45 minutes until mixture
doubles in bulk. Use 7/8 cup mix per waffle.

In deciding on a meal plan, it is important to attempt to moderate your consumption of fats, refined carbohydrate and salt.
Some low carb diet guidlines:
* Food labels can be misleading
Watch out for sales blurb that boasts 'low carb' - check the nutritional information on the back of the product. Quite a few are only marginally decreased and in some instances still more than a competitors standard brand. In addition, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' doesn't always mean 'low carb' - often the carbs are identical.
* You can create really good smoothies with reduced carbohydrate yogurt.
Ok, well, itís not technically cooking, but if you really want smoothies you can make them with low carb yogurt and fruit. Obviously, you will need to ensure you use only fruit that is low in carbohydrates and use the whole fruit as the fiber will help.

The nutrients known as flavonoids which are present in these fruits and vegetables show promise as anti-carcinogens.
Doctors who have been studying the properties of flavonoids suspect that they may well also have many other health benefits, amongst them, anti-asthma and anti-platelet powers.
A good number are also good for weight loss, so should be included in your weight loss program.
