Riso Al Basilico In Forma (Basil Rice) Recipe
2 cup arborio rice
6 fresh basil leaves --
4 tbsp romano cheese -- freshly
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
SALT TO TASTE GARNISH
2 medium tomatoes -- cut into thin
1 fresh parsley sprigs
Bring 4 quarts lightly salted water to a boil in a large saucepan.
Add the rice and cook, checking for doneness after approximately 18
minutes. Rice should be al dente, or firm to the bite; do not
overcook. When the rice is done, remove from the heat, pour into a
colander, and toss gently to remove excess water. Place the hot rice
in large mixing bowl and add the basil and cheese. Stir gently to
combine, then add the olive oil and toss thoroughly. Season with
salt. Spoon the hot rice mixture into a 2-quart mold and press gently
to set. Immediately unmold the rice onto a large serving platter.
Garnish with tomato wedges and parsley sprigs.

Advice on losing weight
If you enjoy your food, but want to become thin and also improve your overall physical condition, then, as most people know, you should follow a meticulously prepared wholesome dietary regime. Theoretically, this needs to involve 5 standard portions of grains, cereals and vegetables every day and also contain the optimum fusion of important nutrients.
Some low carb diet guidlines:
* Food labels can be misleading
Watch out for sales blurb that boasts 'low carb' - check the nutritional information on the back of the product. Quite a few are only marginally decreased and in some instances still more than a competitors standard brand. In addition, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' doesn't always mean 'low carb' - often the carbs are identical.
* You can create really good smoothies with reduced carbohydrate yogurt.
Ok, well, itís not technically cooking, but if you really want smoothies you can make them with low carb yogurt and fruit. Obviously, you will need to ensure you use only fruit that is low in carbohydrates and use the whole fruit as the fiber will help.
Lycopene super foods
(includes watermelon, red bell peppers & sweet gourd)
The nutrient lypcopene is a non-synthetic compound and part of the same family of phytochemicals as carotene. It is the reason for the vivid red color of a good number of foods.
Intrestingly, unlike many other nutrients, lycopene is not damaged if it is cooked, but is observably increased in efficacy by being cooked.
Its key theraputic value is that it acts as an antioxidant and seems to be of use in the battle to lower the probabilty of developing cancer.
This useful phytochemical is the most effective quencher of singlet oxygen, which is connected with skin aging. It is also believed to slow down the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.
