Dilled Green Bean Salad Recipe
100 g french beans, trimmed
1 garlic clove, crushed
6 sprigs of dill
1/4 tsp dill seeds
1 a few mustard seeds
2 tbsp sugar
100 ml cider vinegar
1 tbsp salt
Steam the beans until tender but still crisp - 3-4 minutes. Cool and
put them in the bottom of a glass dish. Add the crushed garlic, dill
sprigs and seeds, and mustard seeds. In a saucepan combine the sugar,
vinegar, salt and a little water, and bring to the boil. Pour the
mixture over the beans and leave to cool. Chill it overnight, covered.

Food Tips of the Week
At the start of a diet, people most certainly look at food store and big brand food items labelled 'low in fat'. To do this is far too often a miscalculation, in that an item could be significantly reduced in fats, but nevertheless elavated in calories and carbs.
Some lower carbohydrate diet pointers:
* Use soy flour or bake mix.
When you have to use flour for baking, substitute it with soy flour or a baking mix like Atkins bake mix. In most situtations, you may convert your most popular recipes that use normal wheat flour to use these lowcarb alternatives.
* Understand the food labels
Watch out for the food label that proclaims 'low carb' - check the actual nutritional information on the reverse of the tin or packet. Some are only a little less and in some instances still more than a competitors usual brand. In addition, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' does not always mean 'low carb' - usually the carbs are identical.
Foods rich in flavonoids
(inlcudes citrus fruits, cabbage, scarlet runner bean and basil)
The nutrients called 'flavonoids' discovered in these fruit, vegetables and pulses are thought to have properties in preventing cancer.
Doctors researching the properties of flavonoids believe they also have most other health benefits, amongst them, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory capabilities.
The majority of these are also good for weight loss, so should be included in your diet system.
