Food Tips of the Week

Losing weight

Recognise the difference between hunger and thirst. At times when going through a hectic day, you imagine you feel hunger but if truth be told you just need a restorative tumbler of water or cranberry juice. The feelings of hunger and thirst are quite alike, but one can result in weight gain and the alternative is fine.
The case against low carb diets
Its extremely popular, but it is truly safe for you?
Cutting out carbohydrates could mean missing out on required nutrients from healthy foods which must be part of any well adjusted diet, especially those obtained from vegetables, fruits and whole grains.
Eating more animal-based products may lead into high consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol, which some authorities believe will increase the risk of heart conditions.
Foods containing carotenes
(includes parsley, rose hip puree and tomato ketchup)
These colorful healthy superfoods contain alpha-carotene and beta-carotene believed by doctors play a key role in cancer prevention, specifically those cancers involving the stomach and lesophagus. Many are low in calories, so are ideal for including in your diet.
