Ingredients
1 cup Brown rice 1 cup Barley 6 Carrots, chunked 1 Onion, chopped 1/2 lb Mushrooms, chopped Dash of garlic spice blend 8 cup Water 1 each Bragg's Aminos to taste

put a lid on it and cook on low overnight.
In the AM I added a dash of Bragg's Aminos for the saltiness I wanted. It was really good and my spouse had seconds. There is enough left for at least one more breakfast for two.

Although you can probably buy reduced carbohydrate bread crumbs, you can also make them by using reduced carbohydrate bread. All you have to do is toast the reduced carbohydrate bread in a gas or electric oven on a cookie sheet. Once it is hard, whizz it in the food processor using a coarse blade. Keep in an airtight container.
* Make great smoothies by using reduced carb yogurt.
Yes, it’s not technically cooking, but if you adore smoothies you can make them with reduced carb yogurt and your favorite fruit. Clearly, you will need to make sure you only make use of fruit that is low in carbohydrates and use all of the fruit as the fiber is important too.

The onion and garlic family of foods is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Although there is very little real proof published, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to reduce symptoms with blood circulation, sterilization and diabetes.
Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in your weight loss regime.
