Preparation
Make up the dough approximately 1/2-hour before you need it. Allow the dough to rest about 10 minutes. Pinch off portion of dough to form a ball about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Roll ball flat on lightly floured surface. Pat back and forth between hands until thin. (Patting makes the chapati puff when baked.)
Cook on top of the stove on ungreased griddle until browned and puffed. Use medium heat so the griddle does not get too hot.

Dieting tips
In deciding on a meal plan, it is essential to also make sure you cut down your ingestion of refined carbohydrate, fat and salt.

* Dietary fiber is essential
Decreasing the carbs in your diet usually results in reduction in fiber also. Look at low carb recipes that are fiber-rich balance the equation.
* Use splenda as a substitute for sugar.
Recipes that call for sugar can be modified to make use of a good substitute like splenda. It has a different density so you will have to do a bit of trial and error and it might not work for every recipe, but it gives pretty good results for the most part.
Foods rich in lycopene
(includes guava, red bell peppers & tomato puree)
The phytochemical lycopene is a non-synthetic coloring agent and one of the phytochemical group known as 'carotenids'. It is the reason for the red hue of many food types.
Intrestingly, unlike numerous healthy agents, this useful phytochemical is not damaged if it is cooked, rather it is actually improved by being heated.
.
Lycoprene's most interesting advantage is that it works as an antioxidant and seems to be of use in the battle to lower the risk of cancer.
Lycopene is the strongest quencher of singlet oxygen, which is correlated with skin aging. It is also thought by many experts to block the progression of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.
