3 large oranges
2 large bananas
1/2 cup pitted fresh dates or raisins

AMBROSIA DRESSING

1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tbsp brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp powdered ginger
1 cup dairy sour cream
1/4 cup flaked coconut

Core, rinse and thoroughly drain lettuce; refrigerate in

Shortly before serving, cut lettuce head crosswise into inch-thick

lettuce chunks and half the fruit in large chilled serving bowl.
Arrange remaining fruit on top. When ready to serve, toss with

Food Tips of the Week

Dieting made easy

One useful tip is to drink plenty of water. From time to time at some stage in a hectic morning, you guess that you want a snack but in fact you might just need a refreshing glass of water or orange squash. The feelings of needing food and needing a drink are quite similar, but one of the two can lead to a broken diet and the other is ok.
Some low carb diet tips:
* Use splenda as a substitute for sugar. Many recipes that need sugar can be modified to make use of splenda. It is much lighter so you will need to do a bit of trial and error and it may not work for every dish, but it does bake up nice in most cases.

* Don't skip meals Most low carbohydrate recipes are, well...., low in carbohydrates. Your body requires energy, and carbohydrates are a very efficient source of energy. A low carbohydrate diet needs more care in monitoring you energy levels, as any energy contributed by non-carbohydrate sources is far slower to act.

Foods containing carotenes
(includes paprika, mangos and winter squash)
These colorful foods are rich in carotenes thought by doctors to play a role in helping prevent cancer, spefically cancer of the stomach and lesophagus. Many also have a low calorie count, so should be included in every diet.
