Garlic Soup (Veg Times) Recipe
1 1/2 qt water
4 potatoes, diced
1 carrot, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
1 onion, diced
2 large bulbs garlic, peeled
1/2 tsp thyme
1 dash cayenne
1 salt to taste
Bring water to a boil. Add vegetables, garlic & spices. Cook over
medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Puree & serve.

Most recipes that require sugar can be adapted to make use of splenda instead. It is not exactly the same so you will need to do a bit of trial and error and it might not be perfect for everything, but it does a decent job once you get the measurements right.

The onion and garlic family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in your diet system.
